Multi Sector Loading
To reduce operating costs and relieve supplier workloads during peak periods, Touchpoint software was utilised to configure optimised aircraft service schedules, reducing the occurrences of these services where deemed unnecessary.
A range of clients have favoured loading aircraft on each turn, replacing contents regardless of utilisation for the next sector.
Others with more simplistic inflight service have favoured minimal aircraft services, often only with service at the start and the end of the flying day. Efficiency seeking operations have sought a rationalised hybrid model, based on dynamic rules per cabin components. Attempts to do this manually have sometimes resulted in compromising passenger experience.
Earlier versions of Touchpoint software supported low cost loading methods, with later generations flexing to suit full service operations. Working closely with customers, Touchpoint has been able to build a version allowing the best of both models, providing a configurable loading logic tool.
For one of our major clients, a complex inflight experience was uplifted at all stations on each turn without exception. To reduce operating costs and relieve supplier workloads during peak periods, Touchpoint software was utilised to configure optimised aircraft service schedules, reducing the occurrences of these services where deemed unnecessary.
Configured to multi load domestic and international flights departing preferred stations, departures in the busiest locations were ‘skipped’ with provisioning in place for the return sector. The benefit to the airline was choosing when and where to apply the logic without needing scheduling to adhere to strict rules, and/or rely on static schedules.
Custom airline rules can be applied to any supplier service, ranging from uplifts to aircraft potable water. Any service provided that utilises a schedule can benefit from optimisation and rationalisation to ensure services are actually required.
